Have you tried that? (Most reports I have seen on the web for similar problems gave that as a solution.)ĭid you see the previous message where someone reported that installing Windows Media Player solved their problem? My guess is that made MTP mode (selected in Auto-Detect) work.

You didn’t say you had tried setting the USB options to MSC instead of Auto-Detect in the player. I’m just another user, albeit with many years of experience working with computers of all sizes. This guess is based on general experience with Windows XP but not any particular knowledge of the m250 (except that I have one, and it has been problem free).

My best guess is that, as you thought, you do have a driver problem, but it is a problem with the drivers installed on your system and not a question of a missing m200 driver. The error message you report certainly sounds like a driver problem. Other USB devices work on your system, your player works on other computers, asking for specialized drivers only to find there aren’t any, etc. Hmmmm… You’ve tried just about all the things I can think of. Try setting it to MSC and see if that makes any difference in behavior.

By default, it is set to “Auto Detect” and that should work. > On the player, open the Settings menu and check the USB settings. > If you display “My computer,” and then connect the player, does anything change on the display? Does an additional drive show up? (It should.) They work properly, including mass storage devices. > Do you have other USB devices, and do they work properly? > Are you connecting through a USB hub, or directly to the computer? Try a direct connection to the computer. Yes I tried, even in the back f my computer, it didn’t help. > Especially if not, have you tried a different USB port? > When you attach the player, does it say “connected” on it, or give any indication it has connected to the computer? It also tells that the device I connnected to the USB acted wrong and cannot be used. I connect the player to the computer by USB, and no additional driver apears in “My computer”. > When you say your computer doesn’t recognize the player, exactly what do you mean? What are you doing and what do you expect to happen when you connect the player?
